GM's Blown Intake Gasket Problem
GM has a problem with the intake gaskets going out, on all most all of their vehicles. Problems occur around 100,000 miles, but I have seen them sooner than that even. Intake needs to be removed and new revised gaskets installed, along with a coolant flush and oil change. Symptoms are, coolant loss with no signs of leakage, antifreeze in the oil. You may also smell antifreeze. These symptoms may also kick on Check Engine Light and leave an O/2 Sensor Fault Code, or Multiple Cylinder Mis-Fire Fault. The gasket can leak internally or externally. Some engines will also suffer oil consumption. Failure to repair, can or will cause engine damage.
Heater Core Leaking, and no heat on Passenger Side
This is a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It came in with the heater core leaking. Also no heat out the passenger side vents. Chrysler had a problem with the doors inside the heater housing breaking. There is a bulletin on this repair. We replaced the heater core and doors on the housing and all is well. As you see the dash has to be removed to make this repair. This particular repair job is associated with a Chrysler Service Bulletin. It's not a recall, so the Dealer won't repair this for free.
